Praia das maçãs is a popular beach in Colares in the Sintra area, which is unknown at tourist level. A small and a very popular beach by the surfers, very picturesque with restaurants serving a good quality seafood and and fish. We recommend the restaurant Atlântico. A place not to be missed.
Arrábida - Every once in awhile we are lucky enough to get to know some places where simply the view can prove that the divine exists... Arrábida is one of those magical places. This beautiful 500 metres mountain, surrounded of many vineyards and some of the best wine tasting places, is located near Setubal (the city that is famous for it's fish restaurants). From many of Arrabida´s viewpoints we can witness the Atlantic Ocean embrassing and "kissing" the Sado River, and both gently touching the sand of some of the most beatiful beaches in Europe (europeanbestdestinations 2017 choice): Galapinhos, Galapos, Creiro, Figueirinha, Portinho and Troia Peninsula are some of the beaches that are easily seen from the top of the mountain. A great place for adventures lovers: Paragliding, hang-gliding, SUP, Kayaking, diving, coastering are some of the activities anyone can do here.
Lagoa de Albufeira is a famous beach in the south zone of lisboa, much appreciated for the practice of Kite surfing and windsurfing because it receives winds of west and northwest. It is surrounded by pine forests and in summer it has a connection to the sea. Very clean water with a very pleasant water temperature. If you want to spend a beautiful afternoon on the beach, this is a place not to be missed!
Praia das Bicas - This small bay has a beach with a rough sea, the bottom of this sea consists mainly of rocks that give rise to a ripple much appreciated by experienced local surfers.
At the top of the 60 metres ridge that surrounds this beach, there is a large campsite park that is crowded at weekends by people from the city who flee to this seaside retreat, looking for sun, sea, fishing and a beach that very few tourists know about.
This spot is also very much appreciated by paragliding pilots who use a good green lawn to take off, which contrasts with a cliff essentially formed of sand and that extends for more than 20 km of coast.
This point is many times used to start hiking along the cliff, being able to see about 6 km to the south as far as the famous Cape Espichel and about 15km to North as far as the busy Costa da Caparica.
